World Downhill Champions Danny Hart officially opened WHEELBASE North East yesterday, Bank Holiday Monday.
WHEELBASE, owners of the UK’s largest cycle store, are really proud to announce opening the first additional store in their 25year history. WHEELBASE has grown to become one of the major players in premium cycle retailing from their base in the Lake District and are now set to take this expertise to the North East.

WHEELBASE North East is located in at 100 Bondgate, Darlington and currently stocks; Specialized, Cannondale, Whyte, Cervelo, Yeti, Mondraker, Haibike, Frog Bikes, plus Mavic, Endura and Castelli.
From Darlington the firm’s intent will be to continue to grow and develop more stores around the UK.

Opening day hospitality was provide by a rather rare and unique 'BBQ Taxi', plus beer from Hawkshead Brewery, Lakeland meat by Hayton's Butcher's and bread by More Artisan Bakery.
