We pride ourselves on offering our customers with superb cycling knowledge and excellent service. This is why we have organised and supported a multitude of cycling events over the years, and will continue to add new and innovative events to our bulging calendar.
Providing our customers the opportunity to test ride the latest and greatest bikes from the Worlds top brands. The chance to ride beautiful and dramatic mountain bike and road routes through our wonderful Lake District right from the store, or nipping through the twisty country lanes on summer evenings with our cycle based orienteering events.

The Olympianist Outdoor Recital - 20th May 2012
Internationally renowned pianist, avid cyclist and WHEELBASE supported rider Anthony Hewitt is the 'Olympianist'.
He will cycle the length of Britain, from Land's End to John O'Groats, with his piano trailing in a van, in aid of charity. At the end of each grueling leg of the ride he will give a recital either outdoors on the 'BeethoVan'. On the 20th May he will be performing at The Glebe, Bowness-On-Windermere.
Dentdale Beauty & The Beast - 26th May 2012
The Dentdale Beauty & The Beast supported by Wheelbase and Herbalife is a brand new sportive designed to show off the wealth of untapped road riding in and around the picturesque Dentdale valley in the Yorkshire Dales.
These is a choice of 3 courses; a severe 'Beast' course: 80 miles, hard 'Beauty' course: 50 miles and a family friendly course: 18 miles.
Phil Kay Comedy Gig - 26th May 2012
King of madcap comedy to lead a chaotic cycling trip around the Lake District and ending up at WHEELBASE for a one-off, unique gig.
Phil Kay is renowned as one of comedy's most energetic acts and his combination of manic energy and surreal storytelling is a regular fixture at some of the world's biggest festivals. His gig in 'the UK's largest cycle store' is not to be missed.
The Sam Houghton MTB Challenge - 9th June 2012
A timed mountain bike ride starting and finishing at the Mill Yard, Staveley and covering the Longsleddale, Kentmere & Troutbeck Valleys and taking in Garburn Pass.
It is organised in memory of Sam Houghton, a keen mountain biker who sadly lost his battle against cancer and died aged only 22 in May 2006. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
Olympic Torch Relay in Windermere - 21st June 2012
Welcoming the Olympic Flame - Bowness-on-Windermere will be holding an Olympic Torch evening celebration on Thursday 21 June.
Dean Barwick MTB Challenge - 30th June 2012
25km or 55km Off-Road Challenge on the superb singletrack trails of Witherslack and South Lakes area. There will be a barbecue at the school running throughout the day for all riders and spectators.
Lakeland Lanequests - 12th June to 17th July 2012
Taking place throughout June and July, the Lakeland Lanequest events are 2 hour orienteering rides on country lanes suitable for all ages.
Le Tour de Staveley - 7th July 2012
In celebration of the worlds toughest cycle race 'Le Tour de France' we hold our annual 'Le Tour de Staveley', a non-competitive road sportive for all abilities, attracting over 300 riders.
