Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th March 2010

All demo rides will be run and managed by mountain bike guiding and holiday company Cycle Active.

Now in it’s fourth year; the WHEELBASE .co.uk BIG DEMO WEEKEND is a hugely successful event bringing together over 120 bikes to test ride from 10 of the Worlds best mountain bike manufacturers. There will be over 30 industry experts on hand to advise and recommend you on your selection, 200 riders in attendance and a wealth of fantastic free guided riding right from the store. This event only happens once a year and there’s nothing quite like it in the UK!

Trek, Cannondale, Marin, Kona, Yeti, Whyte, Intense, Mondraker, Cove and Litespeed will be bringing large demo fleets, plus ‘try before you buy’ clothing from Gore Bike Wear, and tech experts from Sram and Rock Shox.

There will be 3 free guided rides each day leaving at 10am, 12noon and 2pm for you to test the bikes over some classic Lake District riding. Within this there will be a choice of expert, intermediate and beginner courses, split according to ability.

HOW DO I BOOK?

Places are already filling fast so get your bikes booked as soon as possible by emailing us at info@WHEELBASE.co.uk or by calling the store on 01539 821443.

Please state bike model, size, day and ride time (10am, 12noon and 2pm). Plus whether you want to ride on the Beginner, Intermediate or Expert guided route (classifications listed below). You will be able to ride multiple ride slots each day.
Party Night

To top the weekend off we will be holding our infamous BIG DEMO Party from 6pm on Saturday 13th March 2010 in our yard’s very own beer hall and local brewery - Hawkshead Brewery

Every year this party is heaving and with our favourite band Riff Raff so it’s set for more of the same revelry! Party theme: Old Skool. Over 18’s only.

Rider Classifications:

Please read the descriptions below before booking your ride on the BIG DEMO WEEKEND

Expert
Regular, experienced mountain bikers with advanced fitness and bike handling skills. Please also check with staff as to the suitability of your bike, clothing and equipment.

If you have any reservations about joining this group, you must book onto the intermediate course which is still a testing mountain bike route and perfect for focussing on the performance of the bike.

Intermediate
Regular mountain bikers with good fitness + bike handling skills. Please also check with staff as to the suitability of your bike, clothing and equipment. If you have any reservations about joining this group, you must book onto the Beginner route as an alternative which is a great mountain bike route for testing all the features you’ll be considering on your demo bike.

Beginner
Enthusiastic riders with basic fitness and riding skills. Please also check with staff as to the suitability of your bike, clothing and equipment.

Age Restrictions
No riders 12 years or younger. Riders 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who will be solely responsible for their safety.

Important notes:
1. Please bring a helmet, suitable riding gear for all weathers and pedals/shoes if you have a preference
2. Please arrive 40minutes before the ride starts to ensure you have plenty of time to register and for our team to set the bike up for you
3. You will be required to read and sign a disclaimer and also leave a credit card as a deposit for each bike
4. Riders aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a riding adult who will be responsible for their safety
