2018 Whyte Bikes

British brand Whyte have released their 2018 bikes and the new range is fully equipped for the demands of riding in the UK. Designing and developing takes place in Britain so you know their bikes are hardened and ready for our unique conditions. We’ve chosen a few of the new models from their 2018 collection for a closer look.

2018 sees the introduction of the Whyte G-170, an EWS-ready racer for the most challenging trails. Designed in unison with Whyte’s Gravity Enduro team, the G-170 has evolved from the G-160 into a more neutral riding position with better weight distribution for improved traction, cornering and balance. Extra width built into the rear chainstays maintains mud clearance and allows for wide high volume tyres.

The all-new S-150 is a national championship-winning race bike at home on everything from local trails to world-class enduro stages. The S-150 comes with 29er wheels as standard for ultimate speed or you can ‘Switch’ to 650b wheels with 2.8″ tyres for a new level of control and cornering.

The S-150 is built around a unique 150mm 29er Boost fork produced by RockShox specifically for Whyte, improving performance and steering for bigger wheels. The new platform capitalises on Whyte’s ‘Switch’ option to work equally as well with both 29er and 650b wheels. A real all-round capable bike, the new S-150 comes in 3 builds starting at £2,850.

For ultimate go-anywhere capability Whyte have developed the Gisburn. With MTB-inspired geometry, dropper post, hydraulic disc brakes and 500mm wide bar the Gisburn redefines what is possible for a 700c-wheel adventure bike.

The Gisburn comes equipped with SRAM’s innovative Force 1 groupset and tubeless ready wheels and tyres with the option to fit 27.5″ should you wish.
