Fox Union MTB Shoe

Description

All of the FOX Union shoes feature a super-sticky ‘Ultratack outsoles molded from Bromobutyl which provides plenty of grip off the bike when you’re forced to hike-a-bike on the steepest gradients. When comparing the Clipless option to the flat pedal option it’s worth noting that there are a few small differences between the outsole tread pattern, with the flat pedal option featuring a specific tread pattern designed to provide enhanced contact between the pedal and shoe. The clipless pedal options include a neat recess for your cleat which is spacious enough to provide plenty of adjustability so  you can get your foot position just right while also ensuring that mud build-up in that area is not an issue.

When it comes to the Union’s uppers and the question of their durability in hostile riding conditions FOX have got you covered; regardless of what you subject them to, be it mud, rocks, loam or any other typical terrain associated with mountain biking the Unions have been built to handle whatever is thrown at them. The FOX Union shoes feature a one-piece upper constructed with welded seams and plenty of additional protection around the toe area and rubberised fabrics offer further protection while also being water-resistant.

FOX have clearly understood the brief and recognise that these sort of mountain bike shoes have to not only stand up to the rigors of a typical day on the MTB but also be versatile enough to offer the sort of comfort and fit you would expect from a shoe that you’ll no-doubt find yourself wearing for hours at a time. FOX have spec’d a great EVA midsole that provides just enough squish to make bike-pushing is as comfortable as possible and you’ll be in no rush to change out of the Unions when you arrive back at the trail centre and are heading to straight to the caf for a brew.
