We are currently looking for an experienced Retail Merchandiser to join the team at our Lake District head office.
Job description:
We are currently looking for an outstanding applicant for the role of Online Sales Manager based at our warehouse and HQ in the Lake District.
As Online Sales Manager you will be responsible for reliable and efficient order processing and the fulfilment management of online orders, working to a strict service level agreement.
The role in detail:
- Monitoring orders to check that all are processed efficiently.
- Supervise our Customer Service team to ensure our 5 star Trustpilot score is retained.
- Communicating with customers on orders placed and delivery dates.
- Order fulfilment, ensuring that packing and transportation meets our high standards.
- Working with our other locations and the stock team for transfers and multi store shipping.
- Team management – organising work rotas and daily staff workload allocation.
- Solve stock errors and order problems.
- Liaise with our suppliers and third-party couriers.
- Work with our web development team to enhance the customer journey.
- Decision making and implementing changes to ensure good order processing flow.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand profitability with your department.
- Understand department targets and sales monitoring to ensure these are met and attendance to our weekly trade meeting.

PAC Buyer and Retail Merchandiser, full-time, Lake District, UK
We are currently looking for an experienced Retail Merchandiser to join the team at our Lake District head office.
Job description:
As PAC Buyer and Retail Merchandiser at Wheelbase Lakeland Limited you will be responsible for range planning and monitoring performance of Parts, Accessories and Clothing (PAC) from our industry leading cycling brands.
Your role is to ensure that these products appear in the right store and website, at the right time, in the right quantities and replenishment monitored. You’ll play a key role in maximising profits by setting prices, managing performance and planning promotions and markdowns.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans.
- Meet with suppliers and manage the distribution of stock, by negotiating best cost prices, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates and completing the necessary paperwork.
- Communicate product range plans to our Visual Merchandiser, Retail, Stock and eCommerce teams.
- Work with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales and plan budgets to control stock levels.
- Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of range plan data.
- Analyse the previous season’s sales and report on the current season’s lines at a weekly Buying and Merchandising meeting.
- Analyse every aspect of bestsellers, ensuring that they reach their full potential, along with monitoring slow sellers. Plan promotions with the Marketing team and issue markdowns.
- Maintain awareness of competitors’ performance and cycle market trends.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management.
- Having an interest in cycling will be an advantage, but not vital.
- A finance and or business qualification would be preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Proof of sound decision-making and the ability to plan and prioritise.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work well in a team. Build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers.
Working hours:
9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexible/longer working hours may be required from time to time.
The role is office based with a balance between independent work and regular team contact. Some of your time will be spent visiting stores, suppliers and attending trade fairs.

Visual Merchandiser, full-time, Lake District, UK
We are currently looking for an experienced Visual Merchandiser to join the team at our Lake District head office.
Job Description:
As the Visual Merchandiser at Wheelbase you will promote retail brands, products and services in-store through creative and visually appealing displays that are designed with a focus on maximising profits and sales growth.
You will be based from our Lake District head office and work closely with our Retail Merchandiser, Marketing and eCommerce teams to create visual strategies and promotional events that attract and entertain our target markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Use your creativity and awareness of our industry to develop ways to promote our leading brands and to make our stores the best premium cycle stores in the UK.
- Develop and enhance the Wheelbase brand.
- Liaise with our teams to create display concepts in advance of new season launches and designated product areas. This will include window and in-store displays, light boxes, signage, digital graphics and social media content.
- Visit branches and train store teams on visual merchandising techniques and concepts.
- Conduct research on current and future trends in cycling, design and lifestyle which align with our target audiences.
- Create Visual Merchandising Packs to communicate layout principles and present these at the weekly Buying and Merchandising meeting.
- Maintain a budget and negotiate with suppliers for display materials and POS. Identify and source props, fabrics, hardware, lighting etc.
- Monitor and analyse the performance of each project to ensure category growth and forecasted targets are achieved.
What we are looking for:
- Creative flair and imagination.
- Ability to work with design packages likes Adobe Creative Suite for visuals and finished artwork.
- Visual/spatial awareness and manual dexterity.
- Effective internal and external communication. Good negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers.
- The capacity to work with constructive criticism.
- An interest in cycling would be an advantage but not essential.
- Driving licence essential.
