Conveniently located in Darlington town centre, 15 minutes from the A1, Wheelbase North East opened its doors in May 2016. Local legend Danny Hart officially opened the store, and his Descend Bike Park is only 25 minutes away, in Hamsterley Forest – home to some of the best trail riding in the North East.

We currently stock bikes from Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Frog Bikes, Cervelo and Cube E-Bikes – with over 120 on display in-store as well as a full range of clothing and accessories. Our experienced team are readily available to offer assistance and advice and the workshop is on hand to service your bike maintenance needs.

Great riding is on our doorstep with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales offering superb but tough routes – PedalNorth has a great selection of MTB, leisure and road rides in the surrounding areas, including Hamsterley Forest. Ample public parking is available behind the store on Commercial St.

1st time in there shop and made a purchase within 10 minutes. The guys could not of been anymore helpful, They went out their way to make sure my son had his bike pdi'ed before they closed ( baring in mind we got there at 4.40 pm and they close at 5.30) so he could take the bike home that day. 11 out of 10 for our our experience And my son has already been looking at the upgraded parts they also sell. Will 100% be buying from this store again in the very near future.

Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff make sure that all questions are answered fully, and are prompt and efficient when it comes to providing workshop services. The Darlington store is clean, well stocked and it is a pleasure to spend time there. Whether looking for high end or budget bikes, there is something there for everyone. If it isn’t in the shop, they try hard to find or show you what is available and will order it. It is a great specialist bike shop.
