Wheelbase North East would like to invite you to a professionally guided mountain bike ride and BBQ in the awesome Hamsterley Forest.
We have teamed up with the guys at Oakhouse Grill and Rocket Town Brewery to bring you a day of bikes, burgers and beer. We have planned 3 rides for the day, tailored to suit all riders. There’s a steady 10 mile ride for beginners which tackles plenty of smooth rolling single track, an intermediate 15 miler with some testing climbs and techie sections, and a mammoth 25 mile challenge for those ready for a full-on endurofest.
All rides will head out from Danny Hart’s Descend Bike Park in Hamsterley Forest to tackle the surrounding forest and moorland. After working up an appetite on the trails you’ll return to a fully catered BBQ courtesy of Oakhouse Grill and some thirst-quenching beer from Rocket Town Brewery.
Tickets are £20 which includes your guided ride, beer, BBQ and a goodie bag.
The Rides:
Route 1 – Approximately 10 miles of fire road and smooth running single track, a great way to ride some non-technical miles while appreciating the glorious surroundings.
Route 2 – Approximately 15 miles with some testing climbs and challenging technical sections that will work up your appetite for the post-ride BBQ.
Route 3 – Approximately 25 miles of hardcore, full-on riding. Expect serious climbs, super techie lines and a swift pace from the off.
