Conveniently located in Darlington town centre, 15 minutes from the A1, Wheelbase North East opened its doors in May 2016. Local legend Danny Hart officially opened the store, and his Descend Bike Park is only 25 minutes away, in Hamsterley Forest – home to some of the best trail riding in the North East.

We currently stock bikes from Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Frog Bikes, Cervelo and Cube E-Bikes – with over 120 on display in-store as well as a full range of clothing and accessories. Our experienced team are readily available to offer assistance and advice and the workshop is on hand to service your bike maintenance needs.

Great riding is on our doorstep with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales offering superb but tough routes – PedalNorth has a great selection of MTB, leisure and road rides in the surrounding areas, including Hamsterley Forest. Ample public parking is available behind the store on Commercial St.

I needed a new rapid drive freehub for my Trek Remedy,despite having the part number I couldn’t find a replacement anywhere on the internet so I gave Wheelbase a call and whilst they didn’t recognise the part number I had they went to the trouble of looking for one that would fit and put it on next day delivery for me. I have bought 2 bikes from this company before and have always found them to be excellent,always willing to help and in some instances go above and beyond.
