Conveniently located in Darlington town centre, 15 minutes from the A1, Wheelbase North East opened its doors in May 2016. Local legend Danny Hart officially opened the store, and his Descend Bike Park is only 25 minutes away, in Hamsterley Forest – home to some of the best trail riding in the North East.

We currently stock bikes from Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Frog Bikes, Cervelo and Cube E-Bikes – with over 120 on display in-store as well as a full range of clothing and accessories. Our experienced team are readily available to offer assistance and advice and the workshop is on hand to service your bike maintenance needs.

Great riding is on our doorstep with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales offering superb but tough routes – PedalNorth has a great selection of MTB, leisure and road rides in the surrounding areas, including Hamsterley Forest. Ample public parking is available behind the store on Commercial St.

Struggled to purchase a Camelbak Mule back pack on line, so rang up. The gentleman I spoke to couldn’t have been more helpful. Purchase went through without a hitch, at a fantastic price and I received the back pack the following day. Brilliant service. Will definitely use again.

Great advice, knowledge of the bikes, and patience with me when I wasn’t sure about my choice. Had two different bikes in to help choose size, as I was a bit of an inbetweener. Thanks for your help George, I wanted to get it right. Pick up day… Luke spent over an hour setting the new bike up for me, couldn’t have been more helpful, thank you Luke, sorry about the weather. Just got back on new bike, from a 20 miler…. Best time this year! Couldn’t be happier, thanks to all at Wheelbase Staveley, dead serious about bikes!

I recently purchased a Whyte Kado RS from the Ilkley branch. I have nothing but praise for all the staff in store including Nick and Theodore. Still being new to E bikes and mountain biking as a whole they were really supportive, took the time to explain everything and my shopping experience from start to end was seamless.I'm really happy with the bike and grateful for all the help :)
