Conveniently located in Darlington town centre, 15 minutes from the A1, Wheelbase North East opened its doors in May 2016. Local legend Danny Hart officially opened the store, and his Descend Bike Park is only 25 minutes away, in Hamsterley Forest – home to some of the best trail riding in the North East.

We currently stock bikes from Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Frog Bikes, Cervelo and Cube E-Bikes – with over 120 on display in-store as well as a full range of clothing and accessories. Our experienced team are readily available to offer assistance and advice and the workshop is on hand to service your bike maintenance needs.

Great riding is on our doorstep with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales offering superb but tough routes – PedalNorth has a great selection of MTB, leisure and road rides in the surrounding areas, including Hamsterley Forest. Ample public parking is available behind the store on Commercial St.

 


I ordered a new bike and the communications from Wheebase were great. On new bike day, Harry helped me test ride the bike before making the purchase a positive pleasure; as it should be. The whole event was a grand day out.

The service and support Wheelbase Ilkley have provided for my Grandson and myself has been stunning both in the provision of actual advice when buying equipment and a bike, but also in regular ongoing support to my Grandson in all matters relating to biking, It's just like having a bike support group or biking youth club, absolutely fabulous, never experienced service like it before.
