We are very pleased to announce that we have now opened the doors of WHEELBASE Yorkshire, 25 Skipton Road, Ilkley, West Yorkshire LS29 9EW.

With 25 years of experience at the forefront of cycle retail we will provide Yorkshire’s cycling community with an extensive selection of road, mountain, triathlon, electric and leisure bikes from all the top brands, as well as the best clothing and accessories.

The store is now fully stocked with an extensive range and some stunning showcase products, plus a large state of the art Park Tools workshop. 

Ilkley is very well situated at the gateway to the glorious Yorkshire Dales and within easy reach of Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and west Lancashire – a true hotbed of cycling. We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring WHEELBASE to West Yorkshire.

We live and breathe bikes here at WHEELBASE and we have built up our independently owned business from our HQ in the Lake District with some of the UK’s best mountain and road riding right on our doorstep. We opened our second store WHEELBASE North East in 2016 and our expansion into Yorkshire is the result of an acquisition of the former Ilkley Cycles.

Although we ended up not buying a bike from Wheelbase, that was only because they didn't have one in the size and colour option wanted. This was a great shame because Luke had spent quite a bit of time with us, discussing options,swapping pedals over for test rides around the car park, and searching online to try and source a bike from the distributer. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the shop; bravo!

My new Cannondale arrived on time on January 2nd (my online request date) despite an advisor saying that the 5th was likely to be the earliest realistically so big thanks to Wheelbase! Bike was extremely well packed so in perfect condition, was a heavily discounted bike too so much to like about ordering from Wheelbase.

Have just purchased a new Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 AT HPC 800 from Wheelbase in Ilkley. Very friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to staff. The bike was ready and I was given a thorough explanation of how to operate the Bosch system. The suspension was then set to my weight, ready for me to ride. A great experience. I highly recommend this shop. A special thanks to Bernie, who I think is the shop manager.

Absolutely brilliant service from my first phone call enquiring about a specific bike which was hard to find around the country. The salesman I spoke with couldn't help more. Listened to all the questions I had and provided the answers needed to support the sale. Being 200 miles away, Wheelbase were able to take a bike from the shop floor and pack it perfectly into a unique bike box whereby the handlebars remained in place. The bike arrived in perfect condition, no marks from being on the shop floor or from having been repacked. The bike also arrived within 2 days, having ordered at 3pm Monday, it was with me Wednesday morning. Excellent service and product!
