WHEELBASE Lake District HQ – Bike Builder/ Junior Technician

We are looking for an efficient, motivated and mechanically minded individual with a passion for cycling to join the team in our busy Lake District store as Bike Builder / Junior Technician.

The role in detail:

You will be working in our fully fitted professional Park Tools USA workshop assembling new road, mountain and electric bikes to go on display in our stores in the Lake District, Yorkshire and the North East. You will be also carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on sold bikes before they are handed to customers.

You will learn and develop your mechanical skills which guidance and tuition from our team of highly experienced cycle mechanics.

What we expect from you:

  • A reasonable level of technical knowledge across mountain, road and leisure bikes.
  • Good time management skills, efficient, tidy and precise working practices.
  • Achieve a build rate of 8 bikes per day, plus PDI.
  • Team player who integrates well.
  • Clean and organised workspace, which is completely cleaned down at the end of the working day.

SALARY: we offer a competitive salary based on ability and experience.

HOURS: full time, part time and flexible opportunities available.

WHEELBASE Ilkley – Sales Assistant, Part-Time

We are currently looking for a part time weekend Sales Assistant to join our store team at Wheelbase Ilkley.

In a busy and exciting environment, we strive to deliver outstanding service to our customers. Providing the latest products from the world’s best brands, across all disciplines of our sport – mountain, road, electric, leisure, kids and adventure.

We have a vacancy for a part time sales assistant to work in the store on a weekend.

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • To offer first-class customer service to all of our store customers at the UK’s largest cycle store.
  • Provide advice, assistance and expertise across any of our store departments; mountain, road, electric, leisure, kids and adventure, though a specialism in road cycling would be a real advantage.
  • Work closely with your store sales team to create a positive, exciting and engaging retail environment.
  • The role is fast paced, varied and testing.
  • Opportunities for growth and development.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

  • Achieve a best-in-class customer experience and ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service.
  • Have a passion for cycling and develop your product knowledge across mountain, road, electric, leisure, kids and adventure bikes, clothing and accessories.
  • Engage with customers from meeting and greeting to asking questions, listening, and understanding their needs.
  • Correctly process your sales and keep customers up to date with progress.
  • Be a team player – support the Store Manager and the rest of your store team.
  • Create a positive working environment and deliver the WHEELBASE brand values and culture of openness, inclusivity and community.
  • The store must be merchandised daily and always be presented to a high standard.
