The New E-Lyte Evo, Mass Where it Matters
Whyte were the first in the world to pioneer a low centre of gravity approach on their first-ever eMTB, the E-150, that launched in 2019. Delivering a radically low centre of gravity was the solution to unlock the best handling possible. Now for the E-Lyte EVO, they’ve set a whole new benchmark.
The new E-Lyte EVO RS has a 21% lower centre of gravity than Whyte’s ‘Bike Of The Year’ award-winning E-160 RSX, while the MX-wheeled E-Lyte EVO Stag Works bike is 34% lower. This is the lowest of any eMTB Whyte have ever made or measured and we believe this is the lowest centre of gravity of any eMTB.
Why is a low centre of gravity a good thing?
Developing eMTBs with a low centre of gravity minimises the effect the additional major masses have (principally, the motor and battery) on how the bike rides and handles for the rider.
A bike with a low centre of gravity will inspire more confidence, be more agile and easier to turn, and also be more stable and predictable when things get crazy. Ultimately, it’ll help you have a better, more enjoyable and more inspiring ride.

29er or MX wheels
Choose from 29er wheels front and rear (ELyte EVO RS) or MX – aka ‘mullet’ or ‘mixed’ 29in front, 27.5in rear – wheels (ELyte Stag Works).
Geometry adjustment
Change the geo from its ‘High’ to ‘Low’ setting – to slacken it by 0.6º and lower the bottom bracket by 8mm – for more gravity-friendly handling.
Short 155mm cranks
Coupling shorter cranks with the lowest centre of gravity delivers exceptional handling with the ability to pedal through the rough.
Takes two bottles
The frame takes both a full 750ml bottle (using the bottle cage adaptor, included), and an upper 400ml Fidlock bottle (on sizes M-XL).

The E-Lyte EVO range
The E-Lyte EVO platform was conceived three years ago when we began development of the E-Lyte range. By designing the chassis around Bosch’s latest two-bolt motor attachments, they future-proofed the frame to be able to take both Bosch’s new full-power, full-torque CX motor, as well as the lightweight, mid-torque SX motor (as used on the E-Lyte range, launched last year). Weather Proofing Design Features
Fully weather-sealed
Fully weather-sealed with a seat-clamp gaiter, and sealed cable and hose ports to keep the water out.
Forward-facing charge port
The charge port is positioned at the base and to the front of the seat tube, out of the firing line of the rear wheel spray.
Yoke gaiter
A gaiter on the chainstay yoke prevents against sand, grit and debris getting behind the suspension yoke.
2.5in tyre clearance
Generous mud clearance for up to 2.5in tyres between the seat and chainstays to prevent mud and gunk slowing you down.
Armoured frame
Frame protection on the lower downtube and chainstay help keep the frame in great shape.
Skid plate
A robust motor ‘sump’ skid-plate protects the Bosch Performance Line CX motor from strikes.
Pivot bearing protection
Phosphate-coated, marine grease packed bearings maximise service life through even the worst conditions and come with a lifetime warranty.
