Still basking in the glory of our Big Demo Weekend in the Lake District it’s time for the Wheelbase crew and some of the world’s best Mountain Bike and e-MTB brands to come together again for our Big Demo Day – Hamsterley. This event is a chance for riders based in the North East to test ride the latest tech at a super-fun trail centre and is a great opportunity for riders who missed our larger Lake District event to shred on the latest, greatest mountain bikes.

Join us at Hamsterley Forest Trail Centre for our Wheelbase BIG DEMO Day and enjoy riding your dream electric mountain bike! Our Wheelbase Darlington Store will be hosting an action-packed day of riding, with the latest, greatest eMTBs and Mountain Bikes available to shred at one of the best trail centres in the north of England.

You can now book your dream ride online, selecting each bike that you want to test ride during each time-slot available, with rides going out at 9.30am, 11.00pm, 12.30pm, 2.00pm and 3.30pm.

The 2025 edition will bring together some of the World’s best mountain bike brands for one BIG day of mountain bike riding at Hamsterley Forest. Santa Cruz, Yeti, Cube, Whyte and Merida. There’s a huge fleet of mountain and e-mountain bikes available to demo at this super-fun trail centre. Everyone is welcome from beginners to seasoned experts. All demo rides need to be booked in advance through our Big Demo website. Demo bikes are £10.00 to book per ride.

Wheelbase Lakeland Lanequest are fun and challenging cycle-orienteering events on 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings through June and July.

Suitable for all abilities, all ages, all bikes (including electric)– why not give one a go this year

2 hour bike orienteering events on country lanes. Suitable for all bikes & abilities, including electric bikes

Start times from 5.30pm to 7pm. Best 4 of 6 events to count

South Lakes Bike Fest

13th - 15th June

The South Lakes Bike Fest is an annual mountain biking event held in the picturesque Kentmere Valley of the Lake District. In 2025, the festival is scheduled for the weekend of June 13th to 15th. Participants can look forward to exploring great trails, testing demo bikes and enjoying live music in a beautiful setting.

The event will take place at Eddies Field in Staveley. The site opens at 1pm on Friday and evening activities commence at 6pm on Friday, June 13th, 2025.

Tickets are priced at £20 if choosing to camp for the weekend and are available for purchase online. Given the popularity of the festival, it’s advisable to secure tickets early.
