The Brompton Electric G Line brings the compact practicality of a folding Brompton to a larger 20 inch wheel platform designed for riding in the city and beyond. Its new geometry, steel frame and bigger wheels are engineered to give the G Line the ride feel of a full-size bike while retaining the distinctive Brompton fold for transport and storage.
This 4-speed electric version uses Brompton’s e-Motiq system with a handlebar-mounted controller and Start Assist. The integrated system provides electric assistance alongside ride information and fingertip controls, while over-the-air updates allow the system to receive ongoing software upgrades.

20 Inch Wheels and Full-Size Ride Feel
G Line has been engineered around 20 inch wheels and new geometry to deliver a different riding experience from Brompton’s smaller-wheeled folding bikes. The larger platform is designed to provide the comfort, capability and handling needed to ride confidently across a wider variety of surfaces.

Assistance is designed to complement the G Line’s handling while retaining the practical charging, storage and transport benefits expected from a folding Brompton.
The e-Motiq system also supports over-the-air updates, allowing compatible software improvements and updates to be delivered to the system without replacing hardware.
Handlebar Control
The e-Motiq handlebar controller puts key electric bike functions within easy reach while riding. It can be used to change assistance levels and access Start Assist, while also displaying information including battery level, speed and remaining range as well as providing access to lighting functions.
Keeping these controls at the handlebar means assistance can be managed without having to reach for the battery or a smartphone while riding.
Start Assist
Start Assist provides an extra helping hand when pulling away. At the press of the handlebar control, the motor can power the bike at speeds of up to 6 km/h without the rider needing to pedal, helping with situations such as setting off on a hill or moving away from traffic lights.
Once you begin pedalling, Start Assist can continue accelerating the bike up to 15 km/h. Each boost can operate for up to 20 seconds, reducing the initial effort required to get the bike moving before returning to normal electric assistance.
Why the Brompton Fold Matters
Despite its larger wheels and full-size ride feel, the Electric G Line retains the folding functionality at the heart of Brompton’s design. It can be transformed into a compact, locked package in under 20 seconds, making it easier to combine cycling with other forms of transport or store the bike where a conventional full-size e-bike would be difficult to accommodate.
