Description

Abus AirDrop MIPS Full Face MTB Helmet

The Abus AirDrop MIPS is a full face mountain bike helmet developed for enduro, downhill, E-MTB and alpine riding. Protection extends beyond the main helmet shell with a MIPS layer, collarbone protection and breakaway visor attachments, while Ambient Sound Channels help maintain awareness of your surroundings when wearing the full face design.

Comfort and fit are handled by the Zoom Spin adjustment system, removable antibacterial padding and adjustable cheek pads. A height-adjustable peak, dedicated Goggle Fit area and compatibility with ABUS QUIN crash detection technology complete a gravity-focused setup for demanding trails, bike parks and technical descents.

MIPS and Full Face Protection

The AirDrop uses an in-mould construction that bonds the EPS cushioning material directly to the polycarbonate outer shell. A MIPS layer sits between the internal padding and energy-absorbing shell and is designed to counteract rotational forces that can occur during a fall.

Polycarbonate protection extends around the helmet’s lower edge to help guard against impacts, scratches and everyday wear. Cushioning at the bottom of the chin guard also provides dedicated collarbone protection.

QUIN Crash Detection

QUIN-equipped versions of the AirDrop feature an integrated Bluetooth sensor that works with the QUIN smartphone app. Once the system has been set up and activated through the app, it can detect a crash and automatically alert the rider’s chosen emergency contacts.

Designed for Gravity Riding

Abus has equipped the AirDrop with features aimed specifically at demanding mountain bike riding. Ambient Sound Channels are positioned around ear level to help riders hear their surroundings, while the height-adjustable peak can be moved between locking positions.

A defined Goggle Fit area beneath the peak provides space for securely positioning MTB goggles. Breakaway visor attachments are also incorporated into the AirDrop design.

Adjustable Fit and Removable Padding

The Zoom Spin system uses a rotary adjuster at the rear of the helmet for individual fit adjustment. Soft antibacterial comfort pads are secured with Velcro, while the antibacterial cheek pads use press studs to provide a secure full face fit. The pads can be removed for hand washing or replacement when required.

Secure Double-D Closure

A Double-D buckle provides a secure and precisely adjustable closure, using two D-rings to allow continuous adjustment rather than fixed fastening positions. This system is designed to maintain a reliable hold even when riding over rough terrain and through strong vibrations.
