The Shimano Dura-Ace PD-R9300 SPD-SLR Road Pedals introduce Shimano’s new SPD-SLR interface in a race-focused carbon pedal. Designed for professional racing and performance road cycling, the redesigned pedal and cleat interface reduces stack height, increases platform stability and creates a faster engagement action compared with Shimano’s SPD-SL system.
An injection-moulded carbon-composite body combines with an extra-wide platform and integrated stainless steel contact plate. Internally, a heat-treated axle, wide bearing arrangement and refined bearing surfaces are designed to increase stiffness and reduce rotational resistance under high loads.

New SPD-SLR Interface
The PD-R9300 introduces Shimano’s SPD-SLR road pedal system, with both the pedal platform and cleat interface redesigned. Stack height has been reduced by 2.3 mm, positioning the rider’s foot closer to the pedal axle to create a more stable pedalling platform and improve power transfer and bike control.
Faster Pedal Engagement
A wider catch zone is combined with a narrower 10.5 degree engagement angle, compared with 15.5 degree for SPD-SL. This is designed to make clipping into the pedal faster and more immediate, particularly when accelerating away or getting back onto the pedals during racing.
Carbon Platform and Increased Stiffness
The injection-moulded carbon-composite body uses an extra-wide platform to support the shoe and provide a stable connection between rider and bike. An integrated stainless steel contact plate increases interface stiffness, while wide axle bearings distribute loads more evenly.
Shimano states that the resulting construction provides an 11% increase in stiffness compared with the PD-R8200, supporting more direct power transfer under maximum load.
Reduced Bearing Resistance
Inside the pedal, a heat-treated axle and refined bearing surfaces are designed to reduce resistance as the pedal rotates. Shimano states that rotational resistance has been reduced by 53% compared with the PD-R8200.
CL-SL110 Cleats Included
The PD-R9300 pedals are supplied with a set of yellow Shimano CL-SL110 SPD-SLR cleats, providing 6 degree of float. The pedals use Shimano’s new SPD-SLR interface and require compatible SPD-SLR cleats.
