The 2026 Merida Matts J.24+ is designed to give young riders the perfect balance of lightweight performance, comfort, and control. Built around a premium TFS 6061 aluminium frame with double butted, technoformed tubing, it delivers a robust yet agile ride. Fat 2.4-inch tyres offer excellent grip and cushioning, while the rigid fork keeps weight to a minimum for easier handling. At just around 10kg, this bike is light enough for children to ride confidently on trails, paths, and local tracks.
A simple 1×8-speed Microshift drivetrain with trigger shifters makes gear changes intuitive and quick, helping riders stay focused on the ride. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with short-reach levers provide powerful, reliable stopping performance in all conditions. Every component is carefully chosen for young riders, including lightweight aluminium bars, stem, and seatpost, plus a flip-flop stem and spacers to accommodate growth, extending the life of the bike.
