The Kids Ride Shotgun Pro EVO is a 2-in-1 child bike seat designed specifically for modern mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes. It converts from a harnessed front-mounted seat for younger children into the Shotgun Pro seat for older kids, creating one adaptable system for riding together from approximately 9 months to 5 years.
The harnessed configuration is suitable for children weighing 9-15 kg, while the Pro configuration supports 12-27 kg. Both setups use a mounting system that connects to the headset and seatpost with zero frame contact, while the included Shotgun Pro handlebars give your child their own dedicated grips when riding up front.

One Seat for Two Stages
The Pro EVO is designed to adapt as your child grows. For younger children, the harnessed configuration provides a 5-point harness, sternum strap and childproof Fidlock magnetic buckle and is suitable for children weighing 9-15 kg. Shotgun recommends that children can support the weight of their own head before using this setup, and advises consulting a paediatrician before use with children under one year old.
When your child is ready, the system converts into the Pro seat for children weighing 12-27 kg. Before using this configuration, Shotgun recommends that children can sit unaided, follow basic instructions and remain awake for the duration of the intended ride.
Zero Frame Contact and Quick Release
The Pro EVO mounts between the bike’s headset and seatpost, meaning the system does not clamp directly onto the frame. Once the initial installation is complete, the seat can be fitted or removed in around 15 seconds.
Two headset spacers are included, allowing the mounting setup to be installed on two separate compatible bikes. The seat position and angle can also be adjusted to suit the bike and rider setup.
Mountain Bike and E-Bike Compatibility
The Shotgun Pro EVO fits most modern mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes with a standard 1 1/8 inch steerer and at least 10 mm of clearance beneath the stem. An ICR Adaptor Kit is available separately for compatible bikes with cables routed through the headset spacers, while separate solutions are also available for proprietary headset systems such as Trek Knock Block.
The Pro EVO is not recommended for bikes without front suspension, including road bikes and beach cruisers, due to the available clearance between the child’s feet and the front wheel.
Shotgun Pro Handlebars Included
Shotgun Pro handlebars are included in the package, providing a dedicated place for your child to hold while riding. They fit 31.8 mm and 35 mm handlebar diameters and stems up to 60 mm wide.
Safety Standards
The Shotgun Pro EVO meets EN 14344 and ASTM F3641 safety standards for front-mounted child bike seats. The Pro EVO also undergoes independent quality inspections by TUV.
