The 2025 Merida eONE-SIXTY SL and eONE-EIGHTY series are both high-performance electric mountain bikes, each designed for enduro and all-mountain trails but with distinct specs and builds to suit different riding preferences.
Ahead of todays launch, Wheelbase were invited out to Girona by Merida to see the latest iterations of the eOne Eighty and eOne Sixty SL. Heres what we learnt;
Merida eONE-Sixty SL 2025
The eONE-SIXTY SL is a powerful and versatile eMTB with a lightweight Bosch performance line CX motor and a lightweight 400Wh removable battery, giving excellent range without adding weight. SL – Super Lightweight.
It features a mixed-wheel setup (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear) for balanced handling. The frame is built on Merida’s CF4 Carbon offering 160mm of rear suspension travel with a 160mm Rockshox Lyric fork. This model also includes Merida’s adjustable AGILOMETER dropper post to customize fit for stability or agility based on riding style. Ideal for technical trails, the eONE-SIXTY SL includes Maxxis Assegai tires, a choice of Shimano & Sram drivetrains, and four-piston hydraulic brakes, providing a well-rounded setup for intense trail performance. With the base model being on 1kg heavier than the 10k model it’s heavily spec’d across the range.
The range topping eOne-Sixty SL 10K is loaded with the best equipment available; a full fat spec for enduro riding out of the box, not a stripped down spec to reach a weight target. Its progressive geometry offers enduro focused handling with the perfect combination of stability, climbing prowess and manoeuvrability. Add the punchy 55Nm of torque from the Bosch Performance Line SX drive unit and the eOne-Sixty SL offers active riders the perfect balance between human powered handling and eMTB assistance.
If you’re the type of rider who likes to pedal hard and use the assistance for maximum fun on the trail the eOne-Sixty SL is the bike for you. It represents a new breed of e-mountain bike, combining the poise of an unassisted bike with the power of a Bosch SX drive unit to help you ride further and faster.
With a lightweight full carbon frame, 160mm of well balanced travel and a build that blends hard hitting performance with low weight, it blurs the line between conventional and assisted riding.
Assistance is courtesy of the latest compact Bosch Performance Line SX motor with 55Nm and a fully integrated 400 Wh battery, a 250Wh range extender can be purchased separately. Approx overall weight 19.5kg.
Merida eONE-EIGHTY 2025
For riders looking for a robust all-mountain eMTB, the eONE-EIGHTY is equipped with Bosch’s Performance Line CX motor and an 800Wh battery. With this model, you get excellent torque and battery life, especially for longer climbs and rugged descents. The eONE-EIGHTY‘s aluminum frame is also durable and offered in multiple specs. It has 160mm of rear suspension travel and uses components like Shimano Cues or SRAM GX depending on the model level, plus Maxxis tires for rugged terrain. This series is heavier and optimized for maximum power rather than agility, making it ideal for long-range rides in steep and demanding conditions.
The eOne-Eighty 900 leads the way for the eOne Eighty Series. It combines a hard hitting 180mm travel aluminium frame with a powerful Bosch CX drive unit, an 800Wh battery and some top notch kit. The RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork and Vivid Air rear shock are capable of chewing through rock gardens leaving you hungry for more and the proven DT Swiss HX 1700 wheelset will shrug off hits all day long. Running a mullet set up means this bike has the agility to dance as well as destroy; our Agilometer system allows you to choose your size according to your riding style.
The eOne-Eighty is for the heavy hitters, bike park senders and big mountain brawlers. It’s ready to ride the biggest lines and burliest tracks and you can say goodbye to waiting in the uplift queue because it can rip and repeat all day long thanks to a big 800Wh battery and Bosch CX power. It’s Merida’s longest travel e-bike ever, with 180mm of suspension at either end on a robust aluminium frame. Add coil shock compatibility, mullet only setup plus a whole host of other features and getting rowdy is where the eOne-Eighty starts, not finishes.
It’s also Merida’s first e-MTB to use the Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit, offering powerful assistance with 85Nm on tap. There’s a serious amount of range on offer too, thanks to the new 800Wh battery and the option to add a 250Wh Bosch range extender. You can easily remove the battery for off-bike charging or replacement on a really big ride.
It’s rated Category 5 (bike park and downhill approved), so you can get stuck into as many bike park laps or downhill tracks as you like. Approx overall weight 26kg
