Shifting is flawless, and faster than previous Ultegra Di2 iterations, while operating almost silently thanks to Hyperglide+ tooth profiles, meaning that the chainrings and cassette have an improved connection with the chain, essentially improving shifting under load, across the 34t cassette. Aesthetics are sleek, with the semi-wireless system eliminating wires from shifters to derailleurs.
Powerful braking from Shimano Ultegra hydraulic brakes
Braking is equally impressive, and the redesigned Ultegra calipers provide more clearance between rotor and pad, reducing rubbing and the associates noises frequently heard in wet or gritty conditions. Servo Wave levers, have been redesigned for improved ergonomics, speed up the initial travel so pad and rotor meet sooner, creating a more progressive and modulated feel at the lever.
Wide gearing with a 52/36T chainset and 34t Cassette
Adding in a 12th sprocket ensures progression through the gears is smoother. but the real benefit is the 34t cassette and 52/36t chainset providing all the winching capabilities you need to keep you fresh for the efforts on the flat. Spinners are winners!
Clearance for upto 34mm Tyres
The Caledonia frame now accommodates larger volume tyres, upto 34mm. Allowing you to take advantage of a shorter and broader contact patch with the tarmac. Maximising grip from edge to edge of the tyre when leant over and reducing rolling resistance whilst the tyre is upright, not to mention the associated comfort benefits from a larger tyre which is compounded the distance is increased.
