Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli take to the Gravel at AE Forest
We recently headed north to Scotland for the inaugural Gravel National Championships, held on the stunning gravel roads of Ae in Dumfries and Galloway. Fresh from their most successful road racing season to date, a select group of Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli riders swapped their road bikes for gravel machines and lined up to contest the first official Gravel National Championship jersey in the history of this rapidly growing discipline.

In the Elite race Tom Martin and Dexter Leeming-Sykes worked well together for the duration of the hilly 8okm two lap race with Martin finishing 6th in a sprint for the line followed by Leeming-Sykes, just 8 seconds behind, in 7th place.
Meanwhile in the Open 40-44yrs category former 3 Peaks Cyclocross Champion rode strongly throughout the race to take the win, showing great form ahead of the 2026 edition of the Peaks coming up in September.
