Tuesday the 22nd of June saw the return of the Wheelbase Lakeland Lanequest series! On a glorious June summer evening Wheelbase hosted the first round of this popular series at our Staveley HQ. All events are designed to be very inclusive and aimed at all abilities, on all styles of bikes, all ages and families; this year for the first time there’s an e-Bike category too!
Round 1 saw cyclists of all ages and abilities taking to the quiet country lanes of the South Lakes to navigate the designated route and reach as many checkpoints as possible during this challenging cycle-orienteering event. With over 100 entrants made up of solo riders, generation pairs and adult pairs the event saw Tom Gibbs win the solo men, Helen Jackson win the solo women, Gary & Fergus Thomason win the generation pairs and Ben Proctor & Adam Perry win the adult pairs category.
Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part and a special thanks to everyone involved in the smooth running of Round 1.
All proceeds from Round 1 go to the Wheels For All Kendal charity.
