We’ve got new bikes coming into stock every day at WHEELBASE, here’s just a selection of some of our latest arrivals from the World’s best brands…

As the cycling boom continues to grow more and more people in the UK are being inspired to join those who have already discovered the joys of cycling; either as a means of clean, affordable transport to and from work or as an enjoyable activity at the weekends when they’re able to ride out into the countryside. Parents of young children often struggle to find time to exercise, with hectic lives spread between work and a busy home life, stepping away from your children to exercise, even for a short while can be difficult to do.
Struggling to fit in exercise? Bring the kids along…

Family bike rides in traffic-free environments can be lots of fun for everyone involved and the choice of kid’s bikes have never been better, starting with tiny balance bikes right through to down-sized mountain bikes complete with disc brakes and suspension forks, however when your kids are particularly small and can’t ride under their own steam the options for bringing them along are bike trailers or child seats fitted to the back of your bike.
Leave the car at home and take the school run by bike…

Here at Wheelbase we stock Hamax child bike seats because we recognise that their products are of the highest quality; with a focus on child safety and user-friendly operation at the top of the design brief for each Hamax product you can be confident that their child seats will help you to ride safely while carrying your young passenger.
Hamax child seats can be used safely once your child is over approximately 9 months old and all seats are approved to carry a weight of up to 22Kg. The Hamax range of child seats include options that can mounted directly onto an existing rear pannier rack or directly to the bike frame. All models include adjustable harnesses and footrests with straps to keep your child in a safe, secure and comfortable seating position. Hamax child seats can be adjusted as your child grows so that they are always safe; there’s even an option to tilt some of the child seats into a sleeping position – ideal for when that feeling of motion helps your child nod off to sleep!
Hamax Caress Childseat for Bike £144.99
Hamax Siesta Pannier Rack Mount Child Seat £114.99
Hamax Zenith Relax Child Seat £109.99
Hamax Sleepy Child Bike Seat £89.99
If you need to carry more than one child on your bike or prefer to have a more stable feeling ride with your child positioned lower down towards the ground then a bike trailer might be your preferred option. Hamax bike trailers are a great way for you to travel with your kids to and from school, or further afield at the weekend when your whole family ride together; your child will be safe, comfortable and secure thanks to the adjustable harnesses and features such as a mesh front to help shield your children from insects and flying debris. Hamax trailers feature three layers in total, with a sun screen for the front and top window, the mesh layer and a transparent cover to protect your little passenger from wind and rain should you get caught out in unsettled weather.
Want to ride into town with the kids and do some shopping? No problem, both Hamax bike trailers quickly convert allowing you to lock up your bike before using the trailer as a stroller around town. The Hamax bike trailers’ wheels are quick release and all trailers are foldable making packing down and storage easy and convenient; padded seats keep your child comfortable while large windows provide a good view helping to keep your journeys entertaining for your young passenger. Hamax bike trailers are approved for use with e-Bikes too, so pulling your kids along can be made even easier with the help of a pedal-assist motor.

They say home is where the heart is. For us, it’s our home trails. The trails on which we know every rock and root, the shortcuts to avoid a rainstorm and the long route to clear our minds.
Lately, these home trails have felt more important than ever. With limited access to travel, our local routes have kept us riding.
In celebration of the humble home trail, Cannondale are giving a rider and up to five friends a chance to win a unique Cannondale riding experience on their own local home trails. The day will include the usage of latest Cannondale bikes, pro bike set-up, lunch and a goodie bag for all participants.

Introducing Riese & Muller – precision-made German engineered premium eBikes…
Stop for a moment and consider how you travel. Do you live in a city or similar built up environment? Do you tend to make short journeys by car, to and from your home? Do you find yourself struggling to navigate your way through busy streets packed full of stationary traffic or constantly struggle to find somewhere to park your car at the end of your short journey? Perhaps now is the time to reflect on how you travel and consider how you can improve your journey times, improve your own health and most significantly make a valuable contribution to improving the transport infrastructure of the environment in which you live.

Riese & Muller is a relatively new brand for Wheelbase but we were quickly drawn to this premium eBike-only brand which positions itself at the top of the eBike tree and has a firm focus on creating a range of high-quality, precision made German engineered eBikes. Riese & Muller Packster 40 Touring £4,450.00
The Load 60 is Riese & Muller’s rugged, load-carrying adventure machine. With a nice low centre of gravity and a very large cargo platform you’ll be able to pack everything you need for a week-long cycle touring expedition. By putting all of the weight low down the Load 60 feels particularly agile and maneuverable while those beefy tyres and front and rear suspension mean that this cargo eBike is really up for any terrain you care to explore. With Bosch’s powerful Cargo Line Cruise (Gen 4) motor and efficient 500Wh battery you won’t be getting ‘range anxiety’ between camping stops either.
Riese & Muller Load 60 Vario £5,300.00
We recently took a more detailed look at the Riese & Muller Load 75 Cargo eBike, with photos by our regular photographer James Vincent. Read the review below…
You may be familiar with the term ‘Cargo Bike’. If you’ve spent any time in some of the larger cities in the UK you will have no-doubt seen cargo bikes being used to quickly navigate congested city centres, either moving small loads from place to place by courier, or by high-street vendors selling various goods.

In mainland Europe it is now common to see families using cargo bikes as an alternative to getting into their cars for small journeys, with Mums and Dads transporting their kids on the daily school run.

The Riese & Muller Load 75 eBike is just such a cargo bike and is packed full of user-friendly features to make it a truly multi-purpose electric vehicle that can be a great alternative to getting into your car. With its low centre of gravity and a huge loading surface, the Load 75 has been designed to help you carry significant loads that would previously of had you reaching for your car keys; this very-special e-Bike has been engineered to be as comfortable as it is practical, using Riese & Muller’s Control Technology design principle to provide an optimised chassis and finely tuned full suspension platform.

The Load 75’s long, low geometry means that steering remains predictable at slow speeds while negotiating the typical tight turns and traffic controls found in towns and cities. Low loading of heavier objects (including your kids!) keeps you safe at higher speeds while Riese & Muller’s suspension design guarantees obstacles such as cobblestones, curbs and potholes are negotiated in comfort and control.

So what if you wanted to use this Cargo eBike for the twice-daily school run? Well this model can safely transport up to three children for the short journey, while the practical removeable cover means that wet weather doesn’t have to be a deal-breaker either. The Riese & Muller designers have created a space that allows one child to face the rider while the other two children are forward facing in the direction of travel, a spacious footwell means your little ones remain comfortable without getting in each other’s way so while not guaranteed there should be little cause for bickering!

With a maximum load carrying capacity of 200kg this versatile cargo bike can be used for so many activities including carrying camping equipment for bicycle-touring, for the weekly shop, the school run, carrying work-tools, delivering parcels and so much more. The addition of the Bosch motor means there’s very little to stop you carrying loads that just would not be possible on a conventional ‘acoustic’ bike.

Riese & Muller have also included a Supernova M99 Mini Pro daytime/nighttime running front light to enhance your visibility to other road users, this is complimented by a Supernova M99 rear light which, in stop-start traffic quickly catches the attention of motorists behind you. A potentially heavy load needs to stop quickly and in control; with this in mind Riese & Muller have spec’d Tektro TRP C 2.3 hydraulic disc brakes featuring four pistons to greater enhance braking power along with thicker disc brake rotors to ensure durability and controlled braking in all weather conditions.

For time-pushed family members or small business owners bicycle maintenance may well be far down on the list of priorities and again the Load 75 has been designed with this in mind. A user-friendly Gates belt-drive replaces a conventional bicycle chain, with this technology meaning your eBike is driven by a flexible, reinforced, toothed belt which does not need to be oiled and maintained like a chain does; the bike’s gears are neatly housed internally within the rear hub meaning, again that bicycle maintenance is minimal.

We’re not all the same size, with the potential for this cargo eBike to have multiple users within the same family or commercial organisation Riese and Muller have included a good amount of adjustability including the angle and height of the stem as well as the saddle height to accommodate riders from 1.50m to 1.95m high.

We also reviewed the BMC Roadmachine 01 THREE, click the image below to read our feature…
Take a look at the BMC Teammachine SLR01 ONE recently featured in our Fast Bike Friday Blog, click the image below to read our feature…
So what about the full range of BMC bikes? We’ve put together an extensive guide below to help showcase the models that we will be stocking here at Wheelbase, but for a quick understanding of the range here’s a brief summary…
Timemachine 01 Road – The aero road bike
Teammachine SLR01 – The ultimate lightweight race bike
Teammachine SLR – The ultimate lightweight race bike (made from the same carbon as the SLR01 but with a different layup)
Teammachine ALR – Full of technology inspired by its carbon cousin
Roadmachine 01 – The ‘One Bike Collection’
Roadmachine – The ‘One Bike Collection’ (made from the same carbon as the 01 but with a different fork configuration)
URS 01 – The rowdy gravel bike
URS – The rowdy gravel bike (made from the same carbon as the 01 but with a different fork configuration)
Roadmachine X – Alloy workhorse
The stunning Timemachine Road bike is BMC’s out and out aero road bike and is rightfully billed as their fastest road bike ever. Designed to excel in breakaways, over rolling terrain and in bunch sprints the Timemachine Road features a super-aero frame profile that has been sculpted to help you scythe through the air faster. The Timemachine is constructed from BMC’s 01 Premium Carbon and as you’d expect from their flagship aero road bike, it features tons of clever integration with all of the brake and gear cables cleanly stowed away within the aero handle bars, stem and frame; there’s no visible cables to cause unwanted drag leaving you to marvel at the Timemachine’s clean, crisp lines. A key feature of the Timemachine Road is the clever ‘Aero Module’ configuration within the frame which allows for ‘hydration and storage elements’ – basically your bottles and food, spare inner tube or tools all stored in one seamless aerodynamic unit.

The Teammachine is BMC’s all-round road bike; a lightweight & spritely climber that also happens to be brilliantly aerodynamic with a beautifully shaped frame profile featuring full cable integration and aero bar & stem on the higher spec’d models. The Teammachine SLR is split into two different sub-ranges SLR01 and SLR; it’s important to point out that the grade of carbon is exactly the same for both sub-ranges with the only difference being a different, slightly heavier carbon layup on the SLR models. Another key difference is that the SLR01 models feature BMC’s ICS technology integrated fork, bar, stem combination with fully concealed cables while the SLR models do not.
The current Teammachine SLR has evolved from over ten years of racing experience at the highest levels of the sport and endless amounts of innovation and refinement over that time. The Teammachine SLR, has won every major title that a bike can win including; Monuments, World Championships, Olympic Games and the Tour de France with Australian pro cyclist Cadel Evans. A true all-rounder this road bike helps you dance up the climbs, efficiently cut through the air during daring breakaways and responds sharply to your sprint for the win.

The BMC Teammachine ALR is a great example of an affordable alloy road bike which has taken some of the most successful features found on a top-end carbon road frame and reinterpreted them to work as effectively within a lightweight alloy chassis. Key features include sophisticated tube profiling to add strength, cut weight and enhance aerodynamics; internal cable routing keeps the bikes looking clean & uncluttered while helping to keep gear transmission running smoothly. The Teammachine ALR’s geometry is race-ready while its carbon forks add comfort and compliance; the addition of a d-shaped carbon seatpost further enhances comfort and helps to reduce rider fatigue. The Teammachine ALR sub-range features two disc brake options and one caliper brake option for the traditionalists out there.

The Roadmachine is billed as BMC’s ‘one bike collection’, a true all-rounder that’s built for all-day adventures with a frame that has been developed to offer more compliance and comfort to reduce body fatigue and keep you feeling fresher for longer. That said, it’s worth pointing out that this is not your typical ‘comfort road bike’ with an over-the-top tall headtube giving a jacked-up front end; the geometry of the Roadmachine is still very-much performance-focused with a more-racey look and feel. Instead of an extreme upright position, this bike gets its endurance label thanks to clever carbon fibre engineering with BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept which enhances compliance (flex) in key areas of the frame and fork; all of the higher-spec’d models in the Roadmachine sub-range feature BMC’s Integrated Cockpit System which conceals the brake and gear cables within the handle bar, stem and frame for a clean look and enhanced aerodynamics.
The Roadmachine is split into two different sub-ranges Roadmachine 01 and Roadmachine; it’s important to point out that the grade of carbon is exactly the same for both sub-ranges with the only difference being that the Roadmachine 01 models feature BMC’s ICS technology integrated fork, bar, stem combination with fully concealed cables while the Roadmachine models do not.
The Roadmachine is the road bike for you if you’re looking for a high-performing do-it-all road bike built to excel on epic rides and in demanding road races; equally capable on smooth pavements or rougher back lanes with wide 28mm tyres and hydraulic disc brakes the Roadmachine is a fantastically versatile road bike.

The BMC URS (UnReStricted) range of gravel bikes are cutting-edge and contemporary, reflecting all that’s good with modern gravel biking. The Carbon URS bikes are super-lightweight and race-ready with clever component and drivetrain integration to provide functional efficiency AND devilishly good looks; BMC have created a rowdy, playful gravel bike which utilises their ‘Gravel+’ geometry – their progressive geometry with a relatively relaxed 70° head angle, a longer top tube and a shorter stem.
The URS features BMC’s Micro Travel Technology (MTT) on the seat stay / seat tube junction, a lightweight suspension system that adds 10mm of travel which enhances rider comfort without compromising on power transfer and pedalling efficiency.
The URS is split into two different sub-ranges URS01 and URS; it’s important to point out that the grade of carbon is exactly the same for both sub-ranges with the only difference being that the URS01 models feature BMC’s ICS technology integrated fork, bar, stem combination with fully concealed cables while the URS models do not.
The BMC URS really stands out within the sea of gravel bikes now available. With stunning looks, clean and efficient integration, enhanced comfort and most notably a playful, confidence-inspiring geometry the URS strikes a perfect balance between being lightweight and responsive while being tough and ready for rowdy off-road rides.

The BMC Roadmachine X is a truly versatile alloy workhorse capable of taking on endless winter training miles on the road, lightweight cycle-touring over multiple days, back-road mixed terrain adventures and even your daily commute when you’re keen to sneak in a few extra miles before or after work.
The Roadmachine X takes its inspiration from many of the BMC road bikes further up the food chain; the Premium Aluminium frameset is constructed with distance-specific Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) Endurance technology to help take the edge off the roughest roads; with neutral geometry, dropped seatstays and wide 32mm high-volume tyres you’ll be surprised just how versatile this bike is. Practical without being boring the Roadmachine X also features mudguard and rack compatibility, internal cable routing, flat mount disc brakes and an all-road tubeless wheelset to allow you to enjoy the ride with fewer restrictions.

This week our Fast Bike Friday feature focuses on not one but two Fast Bikes! The Cervelo R5 Disc is an amazingly superlight carbon road bike and is recognised as one of the best handling bikes available, providing responsive steering without being skittish; the R5 comes in a number of different specification options, today we’re looking at the brilliantly spec’d Force eTap AXS and Ultegra Di2 models. But before we get into the specifics of both bikes lets take a more detailed look at the Cervelo R5 Disc’s carbon chassis…
The latest version of the R5 features a frameset that Cervelo have engineered to be stiffer than its predecessor without any increase in weight; this added stiffness means an increase in pedaling efficiency and a bike that responds quickly when you stand up to sprint. Through some very sophisticated carbon layup and construction techniques Cervelo have managed to balance that stiffness with a welcome amount of compliance in the right parts of the frame to increase comfort, which is particularly appreciated during long hours in the saddle; a carbon seatpost with a d-shaped profile further enhances comfort. The other factor that gives the R5 Disc such great ride quality is the frame’s geometry; there’s a low bottom bracket to give a stable, confidence-inspiring feel. This stability is sensitively complimented by just the right amount of responsiveness from the R5’s sharp steering for a road bike that feels equally alive at your local weekly crit race as it does stable and predictable on long all-day rides over mixed terrain.
The Cervelo R5 Disc features a brilliantly engineered carbon frame and fork offering a magic mix of stiffness and comfort…
Cervelo have billed the R5 Disc as a lightweight carbon road bike designed to excel at flying up the hills, but dig a little deeper into their own technical blurb and you’ll quickly find that flat out speed and aerodynamic performance have also been a serious consideration when designing and constructing the R5. Cervelo have applied their Squoval Max technology to the R5 frame; as the name suggests they’ve have created a library of carbon tube shapes that combine the attributes of a square and oval (hence Squoval) to produce a tube profile with a more aerodynamic leading edge; these tube profiles are not only more aerodynamic but are actually stiffer and shed more weight than conventionally profiled tubes.
As we’ve already highlighted, the R5 Disc is a nicely-balanced bike which is equally capable of undertaking epic day-long rides in the mountains or racing flat-out crits thanks to its stiff, responsive properties, its compliance and its stability thanks to that nice low bottom bracket. With a further acknowledgement of the R5 Disc’s road racing pedigree Cervelo have used their Pro Road Fit design principle to produce one of the lowest frame stack heights on any of their road bikes; there’s little or no point in having an aero-efficient road bike if its rider is sat bolt-up-right catching the wind. Pro Road Fit puts you in a more aerodynamic riding position which you can fine tune to suit your own preferred fit, but the headline here is if you intend to race the R5 finding an aggressive racing position is easy to achieve.
The Cervleo R5 Disc is a perfect all-rounder being light, stiff, responsive, comfortable AND aero…
So that’s the Cervelo R5 Disc’s amazing carbon chassis, now let’s take a quick look at the exact specification of the two models we’re looking at today. We’ll start with the Cervelo R5 Disc Force eTap AXS; if you want to fast-track to the Ultegra Di2 equipped model just scroll further down the feature…

Press them both together and you shift the front derailleur, either down to the small chainring or up to the big chainring depending on where your chain is located when you press both shifters together…
With stiff, responsive steering in mind and keeping weight to a minimum Cervelo have spec’d their own carbon handle bars and stem…
Lightweight, fast-rolling and aero – everything you need from a pair of wheels. These Reserve carbon wheels feature an aero-efficient 50mm depth and durable DT Swiss hubs…
Both the Reserve wheels and the Vittoria Corsa 25c tyres are tubeless-ready if you’re thinking of making the switch. The R5 Disc’s frame and fork have more than enough clearance for 28mm wide tyres…
