NEW: CANNONDALE CAAD14 IS HERE | Not Carbon, Not Sorry

CAAD14: The Return of the Alloy King

If you know, you know. And if you know… this one’s for you.

The CAAD14 has arrived—Cannondale’s newest chapter in a story that started in 1983, when the brand lit the fuse on the aluminum revolution. Four decades later, the legend returns not as a tribute act, but as a throne reclaiming, corner‑carving, climb‑dancing reminder of what high‑performance alloy can really be. This is the bike for riders who feel the road, who want urgency in every pedal stroke, who crave that raw, electric connection that only aluminium delivers.

Carbon may dominate the pro peloton, but CAAD14 isn’t here to imitate. It’s here to celebrate the material that made Cannondale famous—big tubes, smooth welds, clean lines, and that unmistakable snap when you put the power down. It’s alive, unapologetic, and built for riders who want a bike with personality, not pretense.

The Ride: Not Carbon. Not Sorry.

CAAD14 brings back the ride quality that defined generations of Cannondale racers—explosive acceleration, razor‑sharp handling, and a sense of immediacy that makes every ride feel like a town‑line sprint.

  • Smooth yet snappy — tuned alloy that balances comfort with race‑ready stiffness.
  • Instinctive handling — the kind of precision that lets you dive inside lines and thread corners with confidence.
  • Alive under power — a frame that rewards every watt with forward motion.

This is the bike that doesn’t care about trends or coffee‑shop posing. It’s built to be ridden hard, pushed deep into corners, and unleashed on climbs.

Raw Performance, Refined Craft

CAAD14 doesn’t pretend to be carbon. It leans into what alloy does best.

  • Classic silhouette with modern shaping
  • Smooth welds that show off Cannondale’s craftsmanship
  • Clean, purposeful lines that highlight the material rather than hide it

It’s a bike that looks fast because it is fast—light, lean, and stripped of anything that doesn’t serve performance.

Frame weight: 1280g (CAAD14 1 RAW), 1410g (rest of line)
Fork weight: 397g
Max tire size: 32mm (with 4mm clearance)

Cannondale Advanced Aluminum Design

CAAD is in Cannondale’s DNA. No one has pushed alloy further, longer, or harder. With CAAD14, decades of innovation, race wins, and engineering breakthroughs are distilled into a frame that represents the pinnacle of performance aluminum.

  • Grand Tour–winning heritage
  • World Championship pedigree
  • Relentless refinement over generations

This is high‑performance aluminum as it was meant to be—responsive, durable, and unmistakably Cannondale.

Built to Last, Built to Ride

CAAD14 is designed for riders who want a bike they can trust for years of racing, training, and everyday riding.

  • Timeless design that won’t age out
  • Proven alloy construction that shrugs off real‑world use
  • Lifetime warranty because Cannondale stands behind the frame

It’s the kind of bike you’ll still be riding long after others have moved on to the next trend.

Easy to Own, Easy to Love

A performance bike shouldn’t be a maintenance headache. CAAD14 keeps things simple, serviceable, and future‑proof.

  • 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket — reliable, creak‑free, easy to replace
  • UDH dropout — universal hanger compatibility and SRAM full‑mount readiness
  • 27.2mm seatpost — comfort, simplicity, and endless upgrade options
  • Delta Steerer — clean cable integration with SystemBar or standard stems

This is a bike built for riders who actually ride.

Performance Within Reach

CAAD14 delivers the speed, handling, and quality you expect from Cannondale—without the carbon price tag. It’s the perfect entry point into high‑performance road riding, and a serious tool for racers, crit specialists, and alloy purists alike.

  • A modern, adjustable trail chassis

Introducing: The All New 2027 Merida Reacto

Railing a corner on a Merida Road Bike in Spain

Introducing the 2027 Merida Reacto (GEN 5) Range

We headed out to Benicàssim, Spain for the launch of the new Reacto. A highly anticipated bike for us here – we couldn’t wait to get out hands on the new product. As the previous generation Reacto was Merida’s most highly awarded bike, the stakes were high to see how they would change this incredible machine. We were not disappointed.

A complete guide to the brand new Gen 5 Reacto. The fastest, most advanced aero road bikes yet.

The 2027 Merida Reacto lineup marks the biggest leap forward in the bike’s history. Every model—from the entry‑level Reacto 4000 to the flagship Reacto Pro—shares the same design philosophy: maximum aerodynamic efficiency, reduced weight, improved comfort and class‑leading control. Whether you’re racing, chasing personal bests or simply addicted to the feeling of speed, the new Reacto range is built to help you ride faster, further and with more confidence than ever.

Ride Feel

The Reacto is insanely fast. Jose Hermida led out a 52km group ride and the pace was hot from the get-go. Luckily the Reacto rewards every watt you can put through the pedals. As we rode down the coast cycle path at warp speed, dodging pedestrians and rough patches of tarmac I instantly got to grips with the bikes handling, and confidence to push came quickly.

When it came to descending, I was happy to push and lean in. Manuel, our model for the day, was also really impressed with the Reacto’s ability to descend confidently at speed and made the same comment. It’s a bike you can ride flat out and feel like a hero!

What’s New for 2027

The latest generation Reacto introduces several major updates that run across the entire range:

  • Refined aerodynamics — reshaped tube profiles and deeper integration reduce drag significantly.
  • Lower weight — both CF5 and CF3 framesets shed grams without sacrificing stiffness.
  • Tyre clearance up to 32 mm — more comfort, more grip, more versatility.
  • Improved comfort — the S‑FLEX seatpost and frame shaping smooth out rougher roads.
  • Better heat management — DISC COOLER technology keeps braking consistent on long descents.
  • Shared DNA across the lineup — even the most affordable models use the same aero frame shape as the pro‑level bikes.

The result is a platform that feels faster everywhere: on climbs, in sprints, on rolling terrain and in the wind.

The 2027 Reacto Lineup

Each model is built around the same aerodynamic concept, but tailored to different riders, budgets and performance goals.

Celebrating 50 Years of Trek

50 Years of Trek: From a Red Barn in Wisconsin to the Fastest Madone Ever Made

A celebration of the people, stories, and machines that shaped one of cycling’s greatest brands.

In 1976, the world met the Bicentennial, the first Apple computer, and Rocky Balboa. But our favourite underdog story didn’t come from Hollywood or Silicon Valley — it started in a small red barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin, where five employees set out to build silver‑brazed lugged frames that could rival Europe’s finest. That humble beginning became the spark for something far bigger: a global movement built on adventure, innovation, and the belief that bikes can change the world.

Fifty years later, Trek is honouring that journey with a limited‑edition 50th Anniversary Collection, headlined by three special‑edition Madone models available only until 13 April 2026. These bikes aren’t just machines — they’re rolling timelines, tributes to Trek’s founders, and celebrations of the moments that shaped the brand’s identity.

The Story Behind the Celebration

Trek’s history is filled with characters, turning points, and bold decisions that pushed the company forward.

Dick Burke — the steady hand

From sharp business instinct to a belief that generosity should run quiet and deep, Trek co‑founder Dick Burke brought clarity and common sense to every decision. When Trek was deep in the red in 1986, he stood on a stack of pallets and delivered a simple mission that saved the company:
Build quality. Deliver on time. Create a positive environment.
That philosophy still guides Trek today.

Bevil Hogg — the dreamer

Co‑founder Bevil Hogg grew up barefoot in Africa, chased possibility across continents, and brought a love of beautiful machines to America. His obsession with big ideas led him to that worn‑out barn in Waterloo — and helped shape Trek’s creative spirit.

Wisconsin roots, global reach

From the Pine Knoll supper club where the name “Trek” was chosen over a few beers, to the small‑town kindness and work ethic that shaped the brand, Trek’s identity has always been rooted in Wisconsin. Today, Trek has offices in more than 20 countries, showing up in local communities rather than shipping in from afar.

Moments that defined Trek

  • The Independence Pass photo of Dick and John Burke in 1982 — a snapshot of the adventurous spirit that still drives Trek.
  • The Y‑Bike, a carbon fever dream that redefined what a mountain bike could be.
  • The invention of OCLV Carbon, bringing aerospace precision to cycling and paving the way for the world’s lightest production road bikes.
  • The launch of Project One in 2001, turning mass production into personal craftsmanship.
  • Trek riders winning nine Tour de France titles, including seven during cycling’s most complex era.
  • Lizzie Deignan’s fearless 80 km solo break to win the first Paris‑Roubaix Femmes — redefining what support for female athletes should look like.
  • Trek becoming the first major bike brand to publish a full impact report, pushing the industry toward a more sustainable future.
  • The creation of the 8th‑generation Madone, combining the fastest and lightest road platforms with the revolutionary IsoFlow design.

Trek was founded in 1976. Now, the focus is on 2076 — building a future with more riders, greater access, healthier minds, and less waste.

The 50th Anniversary Collection

Three special‑edition Madones. One unforgettable milestone.

The 50th Anniversary Collection includes:

The First 50 Project One ICON

Available exclusively on the Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 8

The First 50 ICON is the centrepiece of the anniversary collection — a breath-taking Project One design built on the Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 8, crafted from Trek’s highest‑level 900 Series OCLV Carbon.

A frame covered in Trek’s history

The artwork features illustrations representing the people, innovations, and defining moments that shaped Trek’s first five decades. Every surface reveals a new story — a hidden reference, a milestone, a memory. Trek’s editorial page breaks down each illustration for riders who want to explore the full narrative.

Tour de France Proven

Lidl‑Trek will race The First 50 ICON in the 2026 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes. By then, the order window will be closed — making this one of the rarest Madones ever produced.

Exclusive anniversary details

  • Individually numbered frame
  • Limited‑edition white‑and‑red Aeolus RSL saddle with red rails
  • New Aeolus RSL 65X wheels with anniversary graphics (launching summer 2026)
  • SRAM RED AXS E1 drivetrain with power meter
  • Trek Aero RSL one‑piece carbon bar/stem
  • RSL Aero Bottles and Cages

This is the ultimate collector’s Madone — a bike that blends speed, artistry, and history.

The First 50 Replica

Available on the Madone SL 7 Gen 8

The First 50 Replica brings the storytelling and visual identity of the ICON scheme to a more accessible platform. Built on the Madone SL 7 Gen 8, it features many of the same graphic elements but without the ultra‑premium additions.

It’s crafted for riders who want a piece of Trek’s 50‑year celebration in a more attainable build — while still enjoying the aerodynamic performance, IsoFlow comfort, and carbon construction that define the Madone.

First 50 Replica

No. 76 Project One ICON & First 50 ICON

Available on the Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 8

No. 76 is a tribute to Trek’s founding year — a bridge between the brand’s earliest days and its future. It blends the original Trek logo set and heritage blue inspired by the first Trek frames with the cutting‑edge performance of the Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 8.

Anniversary highlights

  • Aeolus RSL 65X wheels with golden anniversary graphics
  • White‑and‑red Aeolus RSL saddle with red rails

Brand New 2026 SuperSix EVO Gen 5

Cannondale SuperSix EVO Gen 5 (2026) – Faster Everywhere

Wheelbase were invited to Girona to be among the first to experience the new Cannondale SuperSix EVO Gen 5, the latest evolution of Cannondale’s flagship road race bike. Set in one of Europe’s most established cycling locations, the launch provided an opportunity to explore what’s new for the 2026 SuperSix EVO, both on the road and in conversation with the engineers behind the platform.

The fifth-generation SuperSix EVO builds on a proven race-winning formula, delivering lower weight, improved aerodynamics, and a more aggressive race fit, while retaining the handling balance that has defined the SuperSix name.

Watch: Giles Drake First Ride On The SuperSix EVO Gen 5

The SuperSix EVO Legacy

Since its introduction, the Cannondale SuperSix EVO has been known for combining three essential performance traits:

  • Class-leading aerodynamic efficiency
  • Sharp, predictable handling

Previous generations have claimed victories across WorldTour racing, from Grand Tour stages to Monuments and World Championships. The Gen 5 SuperSix EVO takes that foundation and refines it further, improving performance without compromising versatility.

Lancaster Grand Prix Returns to the Lloyds National Road Race Series For 2026

The Lancaster Grand Prix road race will return to the 2026 British Cycling Elite National Road Series calendar on Sunday 12 July 2026. The event, first held in 2019, will once again bring elite-level racing to Lancashire, with both men’s and women’s categories competing on a challenging circuit based in Williamson Park.

For Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli, the return of the Lancaster Grand Prix represents a key target in the 2026 domestic road racing calendar. The team has come close to victory on multiple occasions in previous editions and will line up in July with the clear objective of securing first place.

Lancaster Grand Prix 2026: Event Overview

  • Date: Sunday 12 July 2026
  • Series: British Cycling Elite National Road Series
  • Location: Lancaster, Lancashire
  • Start/Finish: Williamson Park
  • Format: Multi-lap circuit race
  • Categories: Elite men and elite women

The event is supported by Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council and additional partners yet to be confirmed. Organisers have confirmed that the necessary resources are in place to deliver the race to the established standard of previous editions.

The circuit will cover part of the proposed route for Stage 2 of the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ in Lancashire, reinforcing the event’s strategic importance within the region’s long-term cycling plans.

Institutional and Governing Body Support

The return of the Lancaster Grand Prix has been secured through coordinated support from:

Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council, British Cycling, Local and regional partners

Key objectives outlined by stakeholders include:

  • Showcasing Lancashire as a destination for elite cycling
  • Supporting local businesses and community engagement
  • Strengthening the county’s sporting profile
  • Building momentum ahead of the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ

British Cycling has confirmed the event’s reinstatement into the Lloyds National Road Series, recognising its established reputation for competitive racing and organisational quality.

Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli: Targeting Victory in 2026

Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli will attend the 2026 Lancaster Grand Prix with a defined performance objective.

  • Multiple near-podium and podium-contending performances in previous editions
  • Strong course suitability for aggressive, selective racing
  • Strategic importance within the Lloyds National Road Race Series standings

The Williamson Park circuit typically rewards:

  • Repeated high-intensity climbing efforts
  • Technical descending and positioning
  • Tactical team coordination

Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli has demonstrated competitiveness on similar circuits across the UK domestic calendar. In 2026, the team will aim to convert previous close finishes into an outright win.

Lancaster Grand Prix and the 2027 Tour de France Legacy

Organisers have outlined plans to expand the 2027 edition into a broader weekend community cycling festival. This will:

  • Align with the Tour de France Grand Départ in Lancashire
  • Strengthen community participation
  • Support long-term cycling infrastructure and engagement
  • Deliver economic benefit to the region

The 2026 race forms a transitional step toward that larger 2027 programme, reinforcing Lancaster’s position within the national cycling calendar.
